Very disappointing

I am restoring a '46 CJ2A and hoped this book was going to give me in depth information on breaking down the engine step by step as well as body and frame breakdown. I am all about information and detail. I wasted my money on this book and should have asked the Jeep people first because they recommended the Willys Service Manual. Searching the internet and watching videos and reference photos was far more helpful than this book. The author goes through a rebuild he had done in which he does say take the engine to a machine shop to have the work done. Great bit of information. How about me taking the whole Jeep to the garage and just read the book to get a general idea of what they will be charging me for then I just show up and pay for a completed project.
I will look through it further to ensure there is no hidden gems before I throw it in the yard sale. Ugh. I could have spent this money on replacement part instead.

Great Collection of Information

This book is by far the best collection of printed information on repairing or restoring your vintage CJ. The author primarily focuses on building his example '55 CJ5 (which is the year and model I happen to own as well) with plenty of notes on "newer" models as well. If you're a little old school like me and much prefer a book over a computer screen, this book is well worth the price. I'm days away from finishing a frame-off build with the help of this book.

Just off target

I actually was looking for a manual to guide me through making repairs to my CJ and not restoring it, what I found in this manual is a process that I could apply if I wanted to restore it as a project, but I am building a hunting rig, not a frame off restoration, different goals and objectives. So I have ordered the repair manual and will use both manuals to try to simplify my project and get my CJ ready to go moose hunting for the 2014 fall hunt here in Alaska.
The restoration manual did have good photos and what seemed to be understandable instructions and guidance though, if your wanting to restore your CJ I wouldn't think the cost of this manual would be a waist, it could save you some time and frustration.
